The main causes of obesity are excessive and unhealthy eating and essential lack of activity. The grounds are quite simple to understand: obesity occurs if person gets from food more calories than uses in activity, because extra calories are transformed into fat.
Unfortunately the situation depicted above is getting quite typical in modern world, where people have no time or wish to control their menu and tend to move not by walking but by various transport, both public and individual. That’s why the percentage of stout people is constantly growing almost in all industrial countries of the world.
The quantity of the food is only half of the eating problem, the other one is its quality. Restaurants and superstores are filled with tons of high-calorie and low-quality foods and drinks which, when even used in comparatively small quantities, may cause problems. But when used constantly and in noticeable volumes, they provoke obesity and other health disorders.
Foodstuff of poor quality and the lack of activity are the main reasons of obesity but not the only ones. The other is genetics, which means that if any ancestors had troubles with excessive weight then the probability that their descendants will suffer from obesity increases. However, all obesity causes, as a rule, are closely connected.
Is there any solution?
The usual recommended method to lose some weight is a diet but too often its help is limited and short-term. After taking some diet, body mass index gets smaller for several kilos, but when person returns to usual way of life, the mass also returns to previous numbers and even may become bigger. The thing is that a diet must be long-term and applied in complex with physical exercises. In an ideal world it’s even better totally change the lifestyle to get rid of obesity. But in our real world well-thought diet and a little bit of home morning exercises may help fight obesity as well.
